Join Amy and Alex for an all new Season 3 of the Pleasure Lab podcast, starting in July.
We’ve even got a little teaser for you in this short bridge episode of the Pleasure Lab.
While Season 1 was Zed and Amy in wacky conversation, and Season 2 was interviews with leaders and innovators in the field of embodiment, Season 3 will focus on Wonder Body: A Sophisticated Coloring Book for Curious Adults. Each episode will be a dive deep into one of the concept in the book: a sense, an energy, or a pleasure. We will link downloadable pages with each episode so you can color along as you listen. Not only will Amy and Alex describe what’s in the book, but they’ll also reveal the untold stories and surprises behind each spread of poetic words and whimsical images.

Pride month. Reveal and Witness.
Pride is a consciousness of one’s own dignity. An experience of feeling worthy, of honor and respect. Reveal and tell, a witness listens and this action expresses dignity.
In my journey to learn more about listening, I watched the TED talk The Power of Two – How Listening Shapes Storytelling: Paul Browde & Murray Nossel. They say, “Listening and telling, one can not exist without the other.” It is in listening to their story, that I can become a better listener.
I also recommend watching Sayantani DasGupta discuss narrative humility. In this talk, she eloquently speaks about human need to been seen and heard.
I am moved by the power of the witness, and acknowledge that this is what we do for each other at Body Trust.
Thank you for listening to our stories all these years, I feel honored.
Enjoy Pride Month,
Alex
Conscious connection….consent
During this stormy winter month, I have been pondering aliveness and eros. Not a new theme for me, yet in the uncomfortable place of change or upheaval, I move towards cultivation of aliveness.
When aliveness involves connection with others, a central aspect of conscious connection is consent. Today I have two great resources on consent that I want to share.
I am thrilled to pass on the announcement that Betty Martin’s work with consent is expanded into a School of Consent. A team of trainers is now available to teach and offer—to individuals, groups, professionals, and businesses—the ‘Wheel of Consent’ and a consent curriculum. The website has gifts, downloads, and introductory teachings about consent.
A more local resource I know of is the Consent Academy, started in 2016. This website is packed full of interesting articles and insights on building a consent culture. I appreciated the variety of voices available.
Enjoy…
Alex
What catches your eye today?
What catches your eye today?
That was the game I played as I walked outside between sessions.
For the next few months there will be filtered light with long shadows during the daytime. Usually the rain will stop and offer clouded gray or sometimes sunlight bursts. The light on this drizzly day offered brilliant colors and moist surprises.
There is a beauty conversation taking place between my visual receptors and my heart.
I am thankful for that.

Portals of Pleasure, an offering
When two of more gather, a circle emerges. The circle has potential, is greater than individual, and holds life. Circle work: we gather in community to explore soulful embodiment and to replenish ourselves—individuated and interdependent—utilizing the group energy for the micro and macro. Circles form and dissipate intentionally, spontaneously, and naturally. An intentional circle can be a portal.
There is a portal in New Mexico. The Body Trust retreat Portals of Pleasure is occurring from July 19 through July 23 in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico. Individuals are prepared and traveling, guided by intention, the circle is formed and we are drawing close.
During these days and nights together, we create a particular portal for transformation. From a distance, there is opportunity for you to connect. How to join? Set an intention to tap into the portal and receive the energetic offering. It could look like meditating in the morning knowing that we sit in meditation, or taking time to nourish yourself, or finding a somatic pleasure and sharing it with another.
Feel it,
Alex
